JUBILEE FEVER AT WEST NORWOOD FEAST

The ever popular West Norwood Feast is taking on a Royal theme this weekend to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.    If you haven’t been before, The Feast is a community run monthly street market with an Artisans’ Market, Food Fair, Retro Village and Gardeners’ Corner.

This month’s Feast takes place on Sunday 3rd June from 10-4pm and as well as the usual extravaganza of tasty food, vintage and retro goods, arts and crafts and gardening paraphernalia, this event will have a regal air to it. The event will be graced by a Queen Elizabeth II lookalike, boast a royal-themed Piñata, a ‘national’ treasure hunt, with performances from local musicians and free workshops and face painting thrown in for good easure.

Since the project’s inception in April 2011, when Lambeth Council asked Space Makers, an agency that specialises in regeneration projects within local communities to increase footfall in the area, Feast has gone from strength to strength. The agency is now in the process of handing over responsibility for WNF, which will be run entirely by local volunteers.

We hope to make it down there on Sunday morning before we head up to the Thames to watch the Thames Jubilee Pagent.

Enjoy your weekend.
